I've been terrible again, sorry! I have been trying to organize my life in Montreal.. aka find a job, which has not been so fun. But right now I am in Toronto (well until later today) which has been really great and I've missed the city a lot.

I thought I would post some photos of one of my final intermedia projects! Here was my "wunderkammer" which basically means a cabinet of curiosity. Although the guidelines were very broad, the project was mean to wow the audience in a way. I really didn't want to immediately "wow" people by just adding a lot of things to a box and tried to take a more subtle and detailed approach which I think stays a little more true to my aesthetic. So my project was called "Fabric of Memory" which basically looked at the construction and manipulation of memories through the metaphor of fabric and clothing. I used two poems from my Poetry class that I wrote, both surrounding childhood instances that I'm not sure are real or not. I transferred them onto the clothing and then also played with sheer fabrics. Also all of the fabrics were from Salvation Army, because I wanted to use fabrics that already had memories engrained in them to construct my own narrative. Anyway enough of my blabbering, here are some photos, I'm hoping to get more detailed shots later and I'll post those when I get back to Montreal!

Wow! What a crazy month it's been. Literally did not have time to even check in with this blog. But I finished school yesterday! It's official!

This post is going to be short and sweet, but I'll definitely be updating very soon with some more detailed news about this month. But what I did want to announce was.. My intermedia project, Memory Box, is finished! We just received our zines today! They are featured above, and I got to make the cover so I am pretty stoked and so happy they turned out! Also you can watch the video component and go through the zine online here. My group members and I are all very excited about it. Also if anyone would happen to wish to purchase one, they are 7 dollars and just comment on this post! We hope to have enough people to get another batch printed.

Also, I'm running on like 0 sleep. Yesterday I pulled my first school related all-nighter for intermedia (another project) and barely finished on time. So glad it's over! I'll post pictures of that project as well.

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't really had any updates in the last few weeks. My university is currently on strike, so I all students are boycotting class this week. Montreal has also had beautiful weather this week, so my roommates and I have spent our days reading and napping on our balcony.

Speaking of my roommates, above is one of my roommates singing one of her original songs! You should all check it out, it's really beautiful!

I finally handed in my short story on Wednesday, so I feel pretty relieved at the moment! Now for the workshop this week. I'm really hoping it goes well. I've been feeling pretty crummy all week, I think it might be my iron but I am going to go to the school clinic on Monday morning to hopefully get a blood test. It just makes trying to work so much more tiring right now.

My school also may be going on strike at the end of March. It's pretty much the only thing anyone is talking about around the campus. There is going to be a huge General Assembly on Wednesday so it should be interesting to see what everyone thinks about the situation. Selfishly, the week strike would really help me get on top of my work, hahah! So we'll see what happens.

I'm going to go make some sort of iron filled food and watch some Whose Line, maybe it will motivate me to get some work done?

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I've been stressing for the past two days, I left all of my work until the weekend.... Will I ever learn?? Anyway, my poems that I thought were due Monday ended up being due like during the week and I hadn't started until yesterday. So I had to write two poems that I'm not proud of at all and send them in. I'm pretty frustrated with myself. And pretty nervous for Monday when they have to be workshopped. Oh well. Today, I need to write a really good draft of my Short Story since it's due on Wednesday.. It's going okay so far, not great. Definitely have some major edits to do, unlike my last story which was pretty easy to write once I started.

Anyway the main reason for this blog post is that I can announce my open project that I mentioned a little while ago! My group and I are creating an interactive zine for our final project, and we would love submissions (from you!) Click here for more details! I've also attached the poster I made for the submissions. The deadline is March 9th and it would be great if you submitted! 

I am so obsessed with these photographs from Where I was From, an online vintage store. Both the clothes and the photographs are absolutely stunning! This morning I decided I should start posting more photos that inspire me or things that I love instead of always using my own photographs. And I should be taking advantage of my photoshop program while it lasts! So expect more of that! Now I'm realizing that my sudden urge to use photoshop more is most likely due to my Short Story deadline... I'm really procrastinating.

 I'm off to do some writing.. hopefully. And then I'm seeing my friends' band play tonight in Toronto! It should be fun. Happy Wednesday!  

Sorry for the lack of updates this week. I skipped a whole day of classes for the first time (in university) last monday because I felt dizzy for two days. It was so strange! I'm taking my iron pills more regularly now and I think that it was my iron deficiency acting up (life of a vegetarian!) Regardless, last weekend was lots of fun, on the friday we had a party at our house for one of my roommates and then on Sunday a few of us went tobogganing before a huge group dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Three Amigos that has 69 cent tacos on Sundays! We took full advantage.

I decided to spend my first weekend of reading week in Montreal to hang out with my roomies! We went dancing on the Friday and then had a movie night on Saturday. And I finally got some things in my room organized (you can't tell from the photo above, but my room has been in serious disarray).

I'm now back in Toronto, I left at 6 in the morning and got here at 9ish. Our kitten is so big! Every time I come to visit it's like she's doubled in size. And I also came home to my mom cleaning out our house, and she's decided to get rid of all of my grandmother's clothes! I saved it all and am now hoarding it all in my room. There are some awesome things! I'll post pictures next week (forgot my digital camera in Montreal), but I'm getting a really nice cardigan, this cool blazer, a salmon blazer and skirt, lots of velvet, and potentially my future wedding dress hahah! It's beige with a blue bow and it's so lovely. A little too big on me so I'm either going to hem it and also get it taken in, or wait until I know what to do with it.

I'm also pinning like a crazy person right now! Does anyone else have pinterest accounts?? I'm so obsessed. Anyway those are my only updates for now! I'm planning on getting lots of school work done this week as well as getting some shopping done. I need new basics desperately.

Also everyone should stay tuned! In my intermedia class, I have started my final project, and my group will be asking for submissions soon! I just finished designing and printing the poster, and we are working on the website right now so I'll definitely post it when everything is up and running! I would love for you to submit!!

Some photos from Arizona! Finally got them developed. I've had such a hectic few weeks but they have also been so much fun, I'll probably go into a little more detail later this week as I am about to go tobogganing! It's strange to look at photos from Arizona right now when I am in such cold weather. Hope everyone is having a great weekend as well!

Sooooo this week has been pretty brutal.. At least it's almost over. Just a few more nights of no sleep left. Anyway I just wanted to let you know that I was featured on the website College Fashionista! My friend Camille is now a "Style Guru" for the website, and when she came to visit me in Montreal, she took a few pictures and interviewed me. Here is the link in case anyone was interested!

I am usually soooo not a "photoboother" but I wanted to show off my new hair, so here is a picture! I got my hair ombre-ed and I think it turned out pretty well! I was apprehensive since my hairdresser didn't really know what ombre was but she made it really subtle and I really like it!

I'm back in Montreal, I was in Toronto over the break. So many projects due this week, I'm so stressed! I also recently got the Designer position at this magazine at my school, so I've been designing a submissions poster for them this weekend as well. I'll be sure to post it when its actually approved.

My grandpa also gave me his old film camera when I was back home, I'm so excited. It's a Canon AE-1 which I've been trying to hunt down on craigslist, and he also gave me three lenses and a bunch of expired film. So hopefully this weekend I can shoot some things and have more photos to post.... It's been pretty sparse recently.

I should get back to my short story.. It's due tomorrow! But let me know what you think of the ombre look! Something you would try on your own hair?

Bye Hair (as I know it)! Tomorrow I'm dying my hair ombre! I really hope it turns out. But I figure it's at the length anyway that if I hate it I can just cut it. This weekend is insane work wise, so obviously I'm procrastinating by posting on the blog haha! I just want to get to Tuesday so my life can go back to normal.. relatively. Back to my short story and never ending projects! Hope everyone has a better weekend than mine!

I started school again on the 3rd and it's been pretty hectic because I'm taking 3 full year classes this year. But fun work so far!
